Compare/Contrast

Mmm, Cookies!

In the book Mmm, Cookies!, Christopher makes cookies out of clay, and gives them to his mom, and tells her that dad made her a cookie so she eats it, and gets sick. He does the same thing to his dad, so Christophers parents call the school and the teacher has a plan. She makes a cookie out of clay and gives it to christopher, so that he knows its not right to do that to other people. I like this book because the kids i babysit think its really funny and laugh at it. The message the kids i babysit get out of this book is that if you do something bad, people will get you back for it.

My favorite book of all time

My favorite book of all time would be My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. This book kept me very interested and i found it hard to put the book down. This book is about a girl, Anna, who has been through many surgeries and had many different tests done to help her sister, Kate, who has had leukemia since she was very young. Anna is found to be a bone marrow match for Kate, and makes a decision that rips her family apart and might have fatal consequences for Kate. This book tells the story of Anna, who has always been defined in terms of her sister and is trying to become her own person. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Athletic

Having grown up playing outside with my siblings, I am very athletic and into sports. I play volleyball, tennis and I snowboard. Last year, I played volleyball on two different teams. This past summer, I took tennis lessons twice a week every week for the entire summer. In the summer, my friends and I are outside whenever we can because we all love the warm weather. In the winter, I love to go snowboarding with my friends. We usually end up going every weekend unless something comes up and we cant make it. Playing sports and being athletic takes dedication but it is a very fun way to spend your extra time.

Hall of Fame

Name: Kelly L.
Class of 2011

Kelly L. graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2015 with a degree in Nursing. She became a nurse at Methodist hospital in Minneapolis. Kelly helped to solve a case in which nobody could figure out what was wrong with the patient. Kelly put the symptoms together and realized it was a rare disease called multiple myeloma. She saved that mans life just in time. Doctors believe that if Kelly wouldn’t have realized the disease, the man would have lived only about one more week.
